Temple Bracelet

So one of my favorite gifts is from my BFF Melissa, She made me a Temple bracelet. I keep it in my Temple bag and love to use it. So, when I heard both my Sisters-in-Law were going through the Temple, I knew exactly what I wanted to make them.

What is a Temple bracelet? It is a pretty bracelet that has a clip attached to hold your Temple name slip while doing a session.

What you will need :

white and clear beads
badge clips
jewelry ring
stretchy cord

First. I take the plastic part off the badge clip and attach a jewelry ring to clip.

Next. String beads and clip onto stretchy cord and knot to close.

Then you are done, so easy, enjoy. I know my Sisters-in-law are going to love it.

Thanks for visiting I would love to see how yours comes out.

I had such a wonderful weekend, I got to drive down to Arizona and be with my two sisters-in-law as they got to go through the temple. It was a beautiful day one that will forever be in my memories.

Don't you love those days that are filled with meaningful conversation, roaring laughter, good food and above all the spirit. Also, they loved the bracelets you can see them wearing them in this beautiful picture we took right before we went to the Mesa Temple.

  2. what an awesome idea! I've never seen these before. I think I will just have to make one for myself to take with me the next time I go to the temple. Can you tell me where you got those beads? I really like them. Also thanks for stopping by my blog the other day and leaving a comment. Having people leave an actual comment these days is getting more and more rare. It meant a lot so thanks!

  14. Was it hard to find the clips? I am interested in making them this week- but not sure if joanns would have the name tag holder and stretchy material too. What is the approx cost? Limited YW budget (I was thinking they could use as a temple recommend holder now then a name holder when that time comes).

    1. Not hard to find the clips, joanns and walmart carries them. joann should have everything you need. Cost depends on the beads you get and how many girls you have. clips run about $4 for 12, roll of stretchy string with 82 feet of string should be good for 82 bracelets I think is $5. The beads I used came in a strand good for 1 bracelet where $8, they have smaller ones by design elements that you can make 2 bracelets for $7. or you could look for a cheaper bead option at joann, maybe big bags of white and clear plastic beads would bring down the cost. and don't forget your coupons, don't know if you know but joanns takes competitors coupons so you can use hobby lobby and micheals coupons there. Have fun let me know how it turns out. jewelry making is always a big hit with the YW.

  16. Thank you for the great idea and the tutorial! I am having a hard time knotting at the end. My knot keeps slipping! Any suggestions?

  17. Even though you've done a beautiful job creating these bracelets, it's important to remember that we are asked not to wear jewelry (other than tiny earrings) in the temple, especially flashy jewelry. Ordinance workers in Mesa had begun making and wearing similar watch bands and we were asked not to wear them. I know these are a clever idea, but maybe it would be good to really think about it.

    1. I have a question...so the temple card is not covered in a clear plastic sleeve? Just attached to the clip? Do you stick it up your sleeve? Seems cumbersome. Better photos of this style in use would be helpful. I want to make one for my sister and am looking for the most functional style. Thanks!
